Summer Seminar Policies & Travel Form

By my signature below, I attest that I have read the entire contents of this form. YES, I do hereby authorize and grant permission to the American Numismatic Association (ANA) to use my photograph, name and/or the contents of any interview with me in any of the ANA’s publications and other ANA promotional material or other media (print, electronic, video or other format), including, but not limited to, The Numismatist, the ANA’s money.org website, brochures and newsletters. I hereby authorize any such use in perpetuity, whether the media is now known or hereafter existing, and hereby release all claims against the American Numismatic Association including, but not limited to, copyright ownership and any other claim for compensation relating to the use by the ANA of my photograph, name or the contents of any interview with me. NO, I do not authorize the use of my photograph, name and/or the contents of any interview with me in the manner described above. If you do not want your photo used, please do not participate in group photo sessions. If you do not want your photo taken, please politely tell the photographer.

Summer Seminar is a wonderful opportunity for education and collaboration with other numismatists. The ANA is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all of its Summer Seminar participants. Further, the ANA is obligated to ensure that its Summer Seminar participants comply with the policies of Colorado College. It is imperative that all Summer Seminar participants comply with state and local laws with regard to the consumption, ingestion, possession and distribution of alcohol and illegal drugs. Any Summer Seminar participant, under the age of twenty-one (21), who ingests and/or possesses alcohol may be subject to discipline including immediate expulsion from Summer Seminar and the Colorado College facilities, exclusion from future Summer Seminars, and/or expulsion from ANA membership. Any Summer Seminar participant who is involved with the possession or use of illegal drugs may be subject to discipline including immediate expulsion from Summer Seminar and the Colorado College facilities, exclusion from future Summer Seminars, and/or expulsion from ANA membership. Any Summer Seminar participant who is involved with the provision of alcohol to anyone under the age of twenty-one (21) may be subject to discipline including immediate expulsion from Summer Seminar and the Colorado College facilities, exclusion from future Summer Seminars, and/or expulsion from ANA membership. Any Summer Seminar participant who is involved with the distribution of illegal drugs to any other Summer Seminar participant may be subject to discipline including immediate expulsion from Summer Seminar and the Colorado College facilities, exclusion from future Summer Seminars, and/or expulsion from ANA membership. Any Summer Seminar participant who violates the policy and is expelled from Summer Seminar will not be eligible for any refund for monies paid for Summer Seminar, lodging or meals.

The ANA takes pride in its operation, and the professional way in which we have run Summer Seminar. The ANA offers a variety of opportunities including having participants stay on a college campus, eat in the college’s cafeteria, participate in auctions and interact with other Summer Seminar participants. With these opportunities come certain risks. Inherent risks include those risks we don’t necessarily seek, but which exist as part of the environment, such as unpredictable weather, interactive games, socializing events, food borne illness, stairs, uneven sidewalks, open uncontrolled spaces in which others may congregate, use of any equipment, facilities or premises and transportation in vans and other vehicles to and from activities or otherwise. Summer Seminar activities may be scheduled or unscheduled, supervised or unsupervised and include activities undertaken during participant’s free and/or independent time. I acknowledge that the inherent and other risks, hazards and dangers (collectively referred to as “risks”) of these activities can cause injury, damage, death or other loss to participants or others. Please read carefully. This Release and Indemnity Agreement contains a surrender of certain legal rights. I (adult participant, or parent/s for themselves and for and on behalf of their participating minor child) agree as follows: I. To release and agree not to sue the ANA, with respect to any and all claims, liabilities, suits or expenses (including attorneys’ fees and costs) (hereafter collectively “claim” or “claims”) for any injury, damage, death or other loss in any way connected with my/my child’s enrollment or participation in these activities, including use of any equipment, facilities or premises. I understand I agree here to waive all Claim(s) I or my child may have against the ANA, bind my/my child’s estate and any family member/heir/other party bringing Claim(s) and agree that neither I, my child, nor anyone acting on my or my child’s behalf, will make a claim against the ANA as a result of any injury, damage, death or other loss suffered by me or my child. II. To defend and indemnify the ANA with respect to any and all Claim(s): (a) brought by or on behalf of me, my child or spouse or my/my child’s other family member/s, heir/s or estate for any injury, damage, death or other loss in any way connected with my/my child’s enrollment or participation in these activities, including use of any equipment, facilities or premises; and/or (b) brought by a co-participant or any other person for any injury, damage, death or other loss to the extent caused by my/my child’s conduct in the course of participating in these activities, including use of any equipment, facilities or premises. This Release and Indemnity Agreement includes Claim(s) of or resulting from the ANA’s negligence (but not its gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct), and includes Claim(s) for personal injury or wrongful death (including Claim(s) related to emergency, medical, drug and/or health issues, response, assessment or treatment), property damage, loss of consortium, breach of contract or any other claim. I execute this Release knowingly and voluntarily.

By my signature below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the ANA Photography/Video/Audio Recording Policy and the Colorado College regulations and policies on page 5 and 6 of the Summer Seminar student handbook that was enclosed in my registration packet and I agree that I will fully indemnify and hold harmless the Colorado College and the American Numismatic Association, their officers, employees, agents, and members, for any violation of its policies and regulations that occurs during my presence on the College campus, to include full indemnification for any damages or injury to any person or entity resulting there from. I execute this Release knowingly and voluntarily.
